For the past 20 years, the Greater Vine City Opportunities Program (GVCOP), Inc. has been diligently working to support the revitalization of the Historic English Avenue and Vine City neighborhoods in West Atlanta. Our primary objective is to improve the quality of life for our residents through financial literacy, employment preparation, entrepreneurship, technological training, veteran services, social empowerment resources and general economic sustainability programs.

The purchase of the historic English Avenue School by GVCOP in May, 2010 was a milestone for the organization and for the neighborhood. With National Historic Registration placement pending, the three-acre, 50,000 sq. ft. facility is paid for in full. Nevertheless, an extensive overhaul is required before it can be converted into a state-of-the-art, green technology, global community center.

INVEST Atlanta, chaired by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, has kicked off this capital campaign with a One Million Dollar ($1,000,000) Award. Now we need your support to match the funds. This is a landmark opportunity to change human lives and really make a difference in one of the most underserved communities in the City of Atlanta.

It is crucial that we improve the quality of life in this historic area – nestled just minutes from the development of one of the greatest athletic and entertainment venues in the history of Metro Atlanta – and GVCOP has a phenomenal plan to do just that! Completing the restoration of the historic English Avenue Campus in 2016-2017 is a great first step.

Our $1 Million Fundraiser Gala Brunch will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at Park Tavern, located at 500 10th Street, Atlanta, GA 30309.
